This game is really bad ...First time I played an RPG through Steam, and I end up being in Jail for 5 years !Good thing, that 5 years in Exorcist , is only 3 seconds in real-life...otherwise.. phew .. :)It was created by using "RPGMAKER" ( not that is a bad choice , but still ) First of all , the dialogs are lacking proper grammar and there are many many typos...Apparently the developer is not a native English-Speaker , but you can use a Google Translator or hire someone for that.Also the storyline , while it seems that you might have a ""choice" , ... well you don't ... and while it seems there's a storyline somewhere there... there isn't.Just click click with the mouse and you have already performed exorcist and banish demons The "Fast-travelling" and the bad explanation kinda ruined it for me .There is no "Tutorial" or "Introduction" to this game .. It's a very interesting concept, but it needs a *lot* of polishing. The dialogues are absolutely deplorable. The quality is frighteningly low. I think whoever made this probably isn't a native english speaker. If I were them, I'd either hire someone to write some proper grammatically correct dialogues, or simply ask the public to volunteer and help out.Other than that, the game is okay. I found the map a little confusing. I didn't really know where to go to (except for a visual marker I only noticed later on, that indicates where to go).There's a telephone and a computer in game that the exorcist (i.e. main character) can make use of. As the protagonist, you take calls from people (some of these are legit, and some of them are pranks). They are meant to help you figure where help is needed and then you're supposed to go off and find out whether or not people who are reported as being demonically possessed need cleansing.In order to perform an exorcism, the main character needs candles and holy water (those can be bought at some market place). The tricky part is, the exorcist lives off donations (there is a collection box at the estate where he resides). So it needs to be checked regularly, to ensure you can buy a stock of what you need in order to perform a cleansing session.It is rather unclear to me whether the estate was a church (?) and he occupied a room there as a cleric in training (because at some point, the guy moves due to certain circumstances relating to the plot).He starts off being a student and graduating.There's one scary thing about this game, and that is the fact your character can get locked up for years if people die during the process of exorcism. That's quite harsh, but it's the way it is.Also, there's a "method" to uncovering whether or not an individual is actually possessed (there's a library\/study room with books on how to go about questioning people so as to find out whether or not they need help).Apparently, there is a distinction made between individuals who suffer from mental imbalances (and misbehave because of it), and those who are truly possessed.It's important to get it right, because anytime you get it wrong, the exorcist's "faith" drops. In my case it never got so bad that the game was over (so I'm not really sure what happens when you perform a lousy job, other than being locked up in prison for collateral damage, lol).I'm really hoping the developers will polish and improve this title, because it's interesting. I'd love to see more.The way it is now, I really can't recommend it though.. This is an exact replica of the traditional pokemon games... only without the pokemon or a visible storyline. If you would like to wander aimlessly around a boring world, this is the game for you.. want to become an exorcist? this game has a special "how to become an exorcist for noobs" section!though all games made with rpgmaker may look similar, this one has an interesting story, where you play for young novice exorcist, learning how to fight evil demons: you have a whole neighbouring city to care about and a prison, where already lives your predessor .... good story and good gameplay, but the translation is weird. I can get over the horrible typos so long as the game works, but it doesn't. To make things worse, it is obvious that not much game testing has been done yet in the game either. What put me over the edge was being stuck in an endless loop due to the developers forgetting to add a self switch, or any switch at all. I have made a video game with RPG Maker before, and while I appriciate the change from the usual rpg graphics, you need to set the passability of your tiles. Being able to clip through almost everything on the world map makes even the smallest walks cumbersome.
